"In the CHAMBER PLAY, Westerbarkei analyzes the driving forces behind the couple's murderous behavior. The separation between reality and delusion leads to many STRONG IMPRESSIONS thanks to the superb acting soloists.

Under his remarkable leadership, he creates individuals out of the chorus, extra chorus and supers which is to be praised: the dark grimaces from the witches are wonderful as if they were  freshly dug out of the underworld, so to speak. 

The directing is also particularly effective because it suits Verdi's score and the musical text perfectly."
